The worldwide DGM organization specializes in training, consultancy and all services related to safety, storage, handling and transport of Hazardous Goods, regardless of hazard class or mode of transport. It is not for nothing that we say: ‘Taking the danger out of dangerous goods‘. There are currently more than 50 DGM offices in 28 countries. All DGM sites in the various countries operate in accordance with nationally and internationally applicable safety regulations and with an emphasis on involvement and innovation. Every year one or more new branches are added to the worldwide network. We can now say that we are the world‘s largest network in the field of the handling and transport of Hazardous Substances. History 

The worldwide network of DGM offices has been under construction since the 1980s. The network is a global chain in which the same high security requirements are imposed everywhere. And it all started with an idea, born in the Netherlands. It was Frank Petillon who, in the mid-1980s, saw how the complexity and contradiction of the rules surrounding the transport of Dangerous Goods started to spiral out of control (IATA vs. ADR, vs. local regulations, laws and government regulations, etc.), especially among oil and gas extraction. It cost immense headaches when, for example, explosives and/or radioactive sources had to be delivered with high urgency to drilling locations anywhere in the world. Frank Petillon saw opportunities for bundling and making unambiguous, professional expertise available to the industry. Thanks in part to his initiatives, these headaches are now a thing of the past. He set up a special department for this within his forwarding company Air Cargo Express (ACE): DGM. However, the developments went so fast that he decided to leave the expedition part of ACE to his son and to continue with the DGM department that was to be made independent. That was finalized in 1988. From then on the growth was good. The scope of the company changed from Air Cargo oriented to the entire logistics chain with handling, storage and transport of Dangerous Goods via land, sea or air.

DGM Support
DGM Support was founded in 1990, an organization that provides the entire network with technical support, marketing support and other forms of support. A few years ago, DGM started to partner more intensively with the IATA. DGM subsequently became IATA Accredited Training School, IATA Strategic Partner and IATA Publications Sales Agent. DGM now also has a network of IATA accredited training institutes that contribute to more awareness in creating safety during the transport and handling of Dangerous Goods.
